I can see WoWs CW now: 1/4-1/2 of your team will be carriers with smaller ships screening up ahead.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing, though.  If we're excluding subs because of the limited role they played IRL we're going to have a hard time fitting battleships into the mix.

This is probably where Harold's prediction about the map design will come in so battleships have a limited role sometimes (like the E-100 in CW).  ;)

Some more info on WoWs.

http://themittani.co...rships-revealed

In particular this bit about carrier play piqued my curiosity.

While scouts are essentially fire-and-forget, players using aircraft carriers have an interesting time: they can begin the game with six or more different types of plane on their ship, such as scouts, fighter-bombers, interceptors, torpedo bombers, etc - and line up missions from this top-down view. We witnessed a carrier sending out a wing of fighters escorting a wing of bombers; the fighters took out the hostile air cover, then the bombers took out a hostile ship.

If they pull this off right they could have one interesting game-inside-a-game with how carriers play out.  That's a big IF with WG, though.

Another statement that credits and XP will be shared between titles.  Hopefully this guy isn't just talking out of his ass.

http://ftr.wot-news....-section-chief/

Q: Will you unify the three games into one world?
A: That’s a good question. Every journalist asks that one. Basically, we now have three separate titles, that we will connect on community level. Players will be able to share experience, credits etc. We will introduce the unified premium account. So, if you pay 10 dollars in World of Tanks, you’ll be able to use that in two other games. The games will also be connected thru Clan Wars. But at this moment, we are not considering unifying them thru a single battlefield.

I don't think WG is sure yet TBH. the credit economy will see significant changes in WoWP before that happens, so it'll be possible to make it work.

Maybe it's something like your gold will be common to all accounts but you will have to pay gold to convert credits and xp between the games.

Well my post wasn't meant to be a complaint.  I just was checking to keep up to date and the thread active for its future use.  I am trying to show Tuccy my interest without pissing him off, so I maybe get invited to the Alpha or beta testing.  If they start it around December 15th I will be off from work around then for over 2 weeks.  So I can dedicate time to testing.  I realize I am not a great game player but to cover that I counting on pity.  :)

You'd be trying to get to NA server, right? (well, have few contacts there when the time comes)

Anyway, Soon™ was a tongue in cheek, I know a LOT of people who want to get in ionce it starts... And it was one of the most frequent questions at recent community event :)

Yes Tuccy NA server.  Thanks.  Seriously if there are decent players to fill all slots then I will understand.   I know there are guys who do this all the time so expect them to be part of it.  I want WOWS to be good.

WoWS has 'caught up' substantially with WoWP. WoWP will still be out the gate several months earlier, but we're about in the alpha stage with WoWS, doing office play tests.

The rock-paper-scissors circle is DD, CA, BB, with carriers performing something of a wildcard role.

So they have  DD, CA, and BB's.  I knew they would.  What about Escorts, Heavy cruisers and battle cruisers?  Got to have HMS Hood.

So, BB > CA, CA > DD, DD > BB ? (I assume DDs have speed and torpedo salvos to trump BBs )
