At some point the KSA gives up and goes home. The lack the means to force the issue, that much is clear.

There is no going home. Asir, Jizan, Najran etc. are all Ismailid lands annexed by KSA.

Well then what is total failure for them? We rarely agree, but I think both of us doubt the KSAs ability to accomplish...really anything. Certainly not subduing the Houti And The Blowfish.

If you control the Ports, you can more or less control Yemen, the Houthi have lost most coastal access. So capture all the ports, control the flow of goods, then start offering peace deals with the various tribes ensuring they can access goods. Don't bother with the mountains, they can rot up there, the coastal tribes become strong enough to resist the hill tribes and as they grow stronger the hill tribes struggle to obtain supplies and weapons.

Coastal tribes hate Saudis even more than mountain ones.

Most tribes can be bought and since KSA can control the sea access, eventually they make a deal. That tribe gets rich via trade through their lines.

They can be bought, but they will inevitably turn vs Saudis in the end. Same thing as in Afghanistan, you can buy tribes temporarily, but you can not buy them forever.

Tribal authorities make such deals which are advantageous for the tribe (or themselves personally). They are happy to be with the winning side but if they perceive co-operation is no longer in their best interests, they can turn coat shockingly quickly. It is what it is.

The idea is to buy a tribe and manoeuvre people into power in that tribe that need your support to stay in power. Problem with that is they will not then be able to further your other aims as all resources go into holding what they have.

Knowing what happend to the Kurds who did the Americans bidding I find it highly unlikely any tribe with two brain cells would have anything to do with them.

There is almost always someone willing to be bought, particularly if the ones doing the buying are both desperate and willing to pay astronomical amounts to compensate.

If KSA military operate their expensive toys the same way KSA military band is playing, it is not surprising they fail the war. I hope they will not buy S-400 as it will be grave danger to air traffic

Another possible reason is musicians of feudal  absolute monarchy with radical religion basis just can't handle melody with lyrics "WE see future of our country in victory of great ideas of Communism"

I really like how this one is shaking whole rotten tree to the roots, both here and abroad.
