msbs-762.jpg

This is a photoshop made photo that demonstrates how or less will look our MSBS rifle converted to 7,62x39mm ammo. The magazine used is a demonstrator of a new magazine for new Beryl variant for the same ammo.

The article says that yup, FB is working on new export variant of the MSBS for this type of ammunition, however note, the only new components of the rifle, will be lower receiver with new magazine well, new barrel, and new bolt carrier group, all designed for 7,62x39mm ammo.

There are other interesting news in article. To the end of 2014 the first around 200 rifles of information series for our army, and also to participate in final state trails. Work is also made on a civilian variants for US market, they might be presented on next SHOT show. And also there is very intense work performed on development of different callibers kits for weapon.

Attaching the prefix 'Mc' is meant to give it a derogatory association with McDonald's (the fast food chain).  Basically a way of calling it cheap, common, and nothing great.

Weapons plant "Łucznik" at the Pro Defense 2016 Fair showed their ready to army trails version of MSBS-5,56K carbine with redesigned breach-closing  and weapon chamber mechanism and final version of buttstock.

Carbine will use new fluted barrel with longitudinal recesses to lighten the weapon and bayonet was also slightly changed. The intresting part is that the weapon chamber and buttstock were made by injection method from polymer by another company Maskpol that is making helmets for Polish armed forces.

Weapons Plant Chairman of the Board Edward Migal informed at the fair that the final version of MSBS-5,56K carbine will finish its army trails by the end of this year ,but formal proceedings(paperlogy) will end in 2017.

Sorry if that is a silly question: When you wrote "weapon chamber", did you mean this part of the weapon that housings the trigger, the selector, the place to insert the magazine, and the button to extract the magazine?

Generally, in English, the chamber of a weapon is the place attached to the barrel, where the cartridge is inserted in order to fire it.

Where you fit the barrel is called a trunnion. Chambers are cut into the barrel bore.

It's not jargon when it is correct and useful.

Sorry, Simon, but when the person one tries to communicate is not able to use the particular terminology of a field of knowledge, that terminology could be the most correct, but its usefulness is not so sure.
