But NZ chose to go AR despite that. :)

Maybe the Falklands Defence Force, as an AUG user, will be a client ?

Article is a bit dusty, but the author checks out ADF's newer version of their AUG copy:

Regarding the middle EF88, obviously that's not an M203.  Does Thales produce its own grenade launchers (I've had a look on their site and it appears they make vehicle-mounted smoke grenade launchers) or is it a product of another company, like the H&K AG36 or something along those lines?

The middle grenade launcher is the Madritsch Weapon Technology ML40AUS 40x46 grenade launcher.

The weapon above is, however, not the grenade launcher the Australians eventually selected for the EF88 / F90, that is the Steyr Mannlicher SL40:

It does look the business. I just hope they put a Geissele AUG trigger on it.

getting rid of the plastic parts in the trigger transfer mechanism should do the trick.

I was hoping that the units issued with the EF88 would hand them into the police during the most recent gun amnesty....

No, thats a side bonus. You guys will get them a lot cheaper than what our government pays for them. Id never buy one privately, even if I could. Give me an AR.

Blood soaked Yanks? What am I missing? An armed society is a polite society.

Do not buy aussie knockoffs. Buy the real deal made in Austria.

Well past me - Im also acutely aware that self-righteous Australians have a tendency to use any gun crime in the US as an excuse to proclaim some sort of morally superior position as our society is safer due to strict gun control. Pisses me off and dont want to be lumped into that ignorant mob.

I especially enjoyed seeing the Browning pistols still serving--notably that they were being carried cocked & locked!

They even ran a solicitation for new holsters last year...

I had another read through this topic the other day and had a random thought later that evening...what's up with the two different designations EF88 and F90?  The Lithgow Arms official website has a proper web page on the F90, however in previous articles (weapons testing/trials it appears), the name EF88 is used.

I hope its not too dumb of a question to ask, but are there any differences between the EF88 and F90?
