Then I hope that they did not take Christmas Day off work for a holiday.  Hanukkah by all means (they may have spent Hanukkah in Santa Monica), but Christmas Day, no.

Great read, particularly regarding the Hawk 75A export fighter encountered by IJAAF and IJNAF fighter pilots in the air war over China.

Those Hawk 75s were really pretty planes, but the engines just didn't have the juice.

Those Hawk 75s were really pretty planes, but the engines just didn't have the juice.

Did a performance workup for a P-36 with the same 2-2 blower as the F4F-3/4 and some P-40ish cleanups a few years ago. Downright scary fighter in '42, Bf-109F and FW-190A were the only things significantly better.
