If it is cooked right, Lengua is wonderful in a breakfast taco with some potatoes, and good salsa.  Yummm, very lean, and very tasty.  Home made soft corn tortillas are also wonderful.

I'm planning on going into my new favorite Mexican joint to try their beef tongue this weekend, unless my friends want to do their breakfast instead. I have never had beef tongue but I have heard it tastes like pot roast. Last time I was in I tried their house made soft corn tortillas despite them being forbidden on my diet. I found out what I been missing all this time. Every soft corn tortilla I had had up to that point has been garbage. These were magnificent.

Big emphasis on that. First and last time I tasted that, it was a bit vile.

Indeed, emphasis on the cooked right. It ought to be soft - melts-in-your-mouth soft. With no hard or tough bits that makes your remember that wot you're eating is tongue.

Lenggua is somewot standard wedding reception buffet dish here.

Well their beef tongue is pretty delicious. If I had not known it was tongue, I would of thought it was just a regular cut of salty fork tender beef. On their Facebook the other day they posted a photo of a delicious looking soup they had on special called, pozole. Made with corn hominy. I was really tempted to get it. I swear this place is testing my will power with adhering to my diet like nothing else.

Both beef and pig tongue in garlic or horseradish sauce is popular round here.

This is how lengua here is served: in a grey-ish/brown-ish creamy sauce with mushrooms:

If you're ever in the town of Leesburg, Florida, make sure to check out the Polish Delicatessen. I stop in every time I am down. They make all their sausages, and a lot of other things all in house from scratch. They have the best braunschweiger I have ever had.  They have the best of a lot of things I have ever had. Here is a link to their Facebook page (click me)

Look at that delicious cultural appropriation! ^_^

There's a hole in the wall pho place here (Got a Laotian/Vietnamese population here) that's the bee's knees. Everyone else goes to the generic Chinese buffet next door, but I've darkened the doorway of the buffet once for a professional development lunch break and never again.

Further proof of American racism and cultural hegemony.

Sweet, delicious cultural hegemony. :)

Some lovely Korean gals try American BBQ for the first time. They really like the pork ribs. I envy them getting to try it for the first time.

Street food in Russia was invaded by çevirme (Шаурма or Шаверма in Russian, also known as döner kebab) outlets from mid-1990th. Now they are on elmost every corner (number is going down as officials are destroying street outlets to return our streets normal look).
