Have finished "Fighting Power" German and U.S. Army performance 1939-1945. Printed in1982 and Peter Mansoor's "The GI Offensive in Europe" The Triumph of American Infantry Divisions, 1941-1945 printed in 1999. As I am a complete army novice, both were interesting. Opinions?

I thought Mansoor's book gave a good account of the strengths and weaknesses of US divisions - but it's been sometime since I've read it. I haven't read Creveld's book. Does is address specific divisions or is it just a general overview?

I'd be curious to hear more opinion on this, but for whatever reason this forum doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic. Starting this again up in the military history forum could get more discussion.
