Written in the sixties (?) by an German author and obviously not the real title. I read it years ago and have been browsing Google and Amazon without been able to find it. Any idea of its real title and author? As always thanks in advance...

Have found it at last. Though only in Spanish and (original) German. In my (very much humble opinion ) a very great book...

Being even more inept than usual with my computer will have to copy it by hand in my own german...

"Die sieben Todsunden das Deustches Reiche im Ersten Weltkrieg" or "Los siete pecados capitales del Imperio Aleman en la Primera Guerra Mundial"

"The Seven Capital sins of The German Empire in World  war one" in my very own translation (as I haven't been able to find it in English...) by Sebastian Haffner...

According to wikipedia.de. the mistakes were:

1.Die Abkehr von Bismarck
2.Der Schlieffenplan
3.Belgien und Polen oder die Flucht vor der Wirklichkeit
4.Der uneingeschränkte U-Boot-Krieg
5.Das Spiel mit der Weltrevolution und die Bolschewisierung Russlands
6.Brest-Litowsk oder Die verpatzte letzte Chance
7.Der wirkliche Dolchstoß (Handhabung der Niederlage nach Beendigung des Krieges)

And my Bing assisted translation:

1.The departure of Bismarck
2.The Schlieffen plan
3.Belgium and Poland or the flight from reality
4.The unrestricted submarine warfare
5.The game with the world revolution and the Bolshevism of Russia
6.Brest-Litowsk or bungled last chance
7.The real Stab-in-the-Back (handling of defeat at the end of the war)

I give the book as a present to a friend years ago (Spanish edition...). And it is in my "will recover it" priority list...

I'd translate it as "turning away from" rather than departure.
