Quite right Shep. Photo taken in Trondheim, Norway were two Visby-class corvettes take part in Trident Juncture 18.

Really looks like a speed boat compared to the others. :D

Has the look of an offshore race boat.

I was getting ready to post that pic. Gotta get up way early in the a.m. to beat Team TankNet, especially in this thread.

And yes, a beautiful ship (oddly light color paint scheme, though).

All those side doors for loading slaves and spoils?

Could be used for that I suppose but not this time. Slaves are quite expensive in Norway I would imagine, especially if you are going to pay with swedish pesetas. ^_^

These corvettes are kind of special and if that stealthy surface is going to work (and I have no clue if it will work or not) then it has to be extremely smooth, so everything from weapons to sensors to the anchor have to be hidden behind their own little hatch. In stealthy mode the railing is also gone and I believe part of the main mast as well. Missiles are fired from within the hull and the gun turret will have to open a couple of hatches for the gun to fire.

That gun turret always reminds me of an old computer game called Elite, there was some space craft in it that resembles that turret very much. :D

Slaves are quite expensive in Norway  ...

Which is one of the reasons why the Vikings came into being 1000+ years ago.

Are we going to see a resurgence of the Norseman Menace?

The alternative failure modes are more dangerous, of course.

I don't think you're going to see a B-2 doing this anytime soon.

"...the NF-16D known as VISTA (Variable stability In-flight Simulator Test Aircraft), departs Hill Air Force Base, Utah, Jan 30, 2019. This aircraft is the only one of its kind in the world and is the flagship of the United States Air Force Test Pilot School. This F-16 has been highly modified, allowing pilots to change the aircraft flight characteristics and stability to mimic that of other aircraft."

OH-1 had some engine problems therefore all flights were cancelled since 2015. But flights resumed on March 1st 2019.
