Oh, how I would have loved to be the signalman at Carstairs junction. Before they messed it up anyway.

 

Thanks, ive not seen that before, and there have been boxed sets of the BTF films released before. I guess I never got that one

 

This is a good compliment to the above film.

Looking north towards Nuneaton with Rugby's gas works towering over the railway on the left of the photograph. The Permanent Way gang are installing new turnouts and crossovers leading to the exchange sidings whilst on the left are some of the sidings of Rugby's goods yard. In the foreground is a gas lamp post, one of several to be found across the goods yard at certain places, used to aid working at night.lnwrrm2476.jpg​

What is interesting is the advertisement for the "Fisher Wallace Stimulator"  for treating depression, insomnia, etc. All that is missing is the late night Ronco advertising "...as seen on tv!"

This is precisely why I like doing historic routes for Train Simulator, and the Modern scene is so mindnumbingly boring.
