This morning they went north, taking few villages. But that could be part of wider effort to encircle Khan Shaykun and widen the Western pincer.

It seems like these gains have been lost with a rebel counterattack.

Now reversed again.

HTS got plenty of reinforcements from Turkish backed forces over the last few days, so not much progress today (actually, they are trying to counter-attack on Eastern pincer).

RPG-27 and AK-103 with foregrip and flash hider/suppressor?  I don't know why but I always imagine those RPG's are smaller than they really are.

RPG-26. 27 is quite a bit beefier while looking relatively same. No need in it anyways: there is no armor requiring 27 in theater.

Thank you.  I'll get the hang of ID'ing one RPG type from another one of these days...

Not too hard tbh if scale is presend. If you see basically LAW - it's 22. This thing - 26. This thing but thicc - 27. And if you see something that raises questions about how it should be carried and fired - that's a 28.

Interesting that RPG-28 claims a penetration (~1000)  that is quite a bit better than 125mm main gun HEAT rounds (~800).

It's newer, plus low velocity stuff will always have better pen than shells of given caliber.

North Hama is classic Soviet sub operational action. Like Nazis the Jihadists cannot give up territory. This means they will always counterattack into the artillery and leave forces in the kessel.

It seems SAA is trying to mount a sudden night attack and storm Khan Shaykun: they took three checkpoints on western and northern outskirts, effectively reaching M5 highway.

A Turkish army convoy was bombed on the way to supply their outposts

http://www.hurriyetd...ministry-145891

Any word on whose aircraft it was and what weapon was used? Whatever it was, the convoy seems to be largely spared. It looks more like a warning shot than an attack to do damage.

The Turkish convoy isn't just carrying ammunition; it looks like a small armored unit is deploying. M60s and some kind of fighting vehicle that looks like a after market autocannon on a Bradley hull:

Another post indicates a second convoy has joined with an additional 30 vehicles and at least seven 'tanks'. The M5 is most likely effectively cut off now, one report is that two new observation points will be set up between Morek and Shahshbo Mountain. I assume they are trying to force the pocket to stay open and keep OP 9 from being cut off, but since the convoy was stopped and the M5 seems to be at least within easy arty range of the SAA it seems unlikely they will be able to do that. Turkish aircraft are now operating over the convoy and Khan Shaykun so the pucker factor is going to be really high for both sides.

It is an ACV-15, based on AIFV, which in turn is based on the improved M113A1.

Also, it seems reports on Turkish F-16s are false, but there are reconnaissance drones in the area. Airstrike hit the rebel pickups escorting the conwoy.
