In the case of Puerto Rico you could actually say that the local government doesn't have a very good track record, and since it's not a US state, "going back and fixing stuff there" isn't entirely absurd, and not necessarily racist either. Same goes for Somalia. I wouldn't have made such a statement; a 50% miss rate under the most favorable interpretation isn't exactly precision fire. But it doesn't prove "Trump=racist" unless you have made your mind up already and want him to be one.

It is not just that these four hate the current government, but that they hate everything about America itself.

That doesn't require special mentioning, but when you use Twitter like Trump, there isn't much room for much sophistication in your statements. So it can be interpreted in a way that deflects from the actual message; the the four girls predictably do the only thing they have prepared for such a situation, they cry "Racist!"

Fortunately our objective TV news are seeing through this and would never quote only selective passages from Trump's tweets.

Hey German members!  Is Volksmarching still as popular now as it was in the 1980's?  I loved to go do those.

to 1) I seems to me that hiking has gained popularity again in recent years. Not as popular as a hundred years ago, when like everybody who had teh time to spare wandered all around Germany. Especially the secondary mountain ranges like the Harz, Black Forest, Thuringina forest, Saxonian Switzerland etc. etc. Outdoors equipment shops are filled with hiking shoes, small rucksacks and such for small hikes from inn to inn. Oddly there has been a rise in popularity in hiking along old pilgrim routes.

NATO Ring is rather unususal, but I have seen several "Am Kasino" (or variations) meaning the officer's mess over the years near barrakcs or former barracks. Hannover has the best one imho. The "Kugelfangtrift" literally bullet trap or backstop drove (-road), which is the street between two separate barracks of which one is no longer in use today. The other houses the MP training centre. And people say germans do not have humor.

It's the former home of 1/AA Missile Group 21 I was cycling through. I recall the days that was a barracks. ... :( ;)

Apparently the Bundestag is about to be fortified. They plan a ten meter wide and 2.5 meter deep ditch with fences on both sides. Nice idea, but you could improve on it. How about guard towers and free running guard dogs?

Alternately they could just report the imported radicals but that would be admitting having made a mistake.

At first read I thought this was nonsensical on its face, since there is no way you could physically dig a ten-meter-wide moat around the Reichstag - it's directly on a street at one side, on the Spree River at another, and has annexes on the latter and a third side with MPs and staffers going back and forth all the time above and under ground through connecting tunnels. Of course upon checking I found that this is going to be a Ha-ha replacing the makeshift barriers outside the west portal only when the fugly visitor checkpoint containers there, both installed after the 2010 terror threats, finally get superseded by a proper USC-style visitor center with its own connecting tunnel. That's actually going to be an improvement both in security and optics.

On street names, former military installations tend to leave their mark after conversion to civilian use.

The 'not wall' is not all around but only in front of.

And if it is not physically feasible, since when has that ever stopped determined politicians?

Mr. Steinhövel is defending Facebook users who have fallen victim to overbooking - an intended result of the German internet censorship law. And he's winning but Facebook isn't always paying court fees, so he is seizing money the makers of the censorship law pay to FB for political ads.
