Im pretty sure we had one of these before, but im damned if I can find it. Anyway, this is an interesting one, a Soviet Su15 pilot that brought down what appears to be a Lockheed Electra with a ramming attack. Auto-translate is rubbish, but its better than nothing.

Impressive as far as Russian resolve, if not technology. He was lucky to have lived to tell about it.

Oh, sorry about that. I must have searched 'Cold War' a half dozen times and not found it. Thanks.

Is there anyone that can speak russian that can say where this aircraft came from, and what it was doing? I thought it said the Iranian border, but I cant trust google translate.

Good plane, but touchy.  You had to make sure you 'flew the numbers'.  The vast majority of crashes were inexperienced pilots who let the plane get ahead of them.

Yeah the Mig 21 is really small. I noticed that the pilot in the DCS one looks so big, it looks like he is riding a kiddies ride outside a supermarket. :D
