Terrible to hear... my most sincere condolences.
Thou the man is gone I'm sure his legacy, including Tank-net, will live on.
RIP.

TN has been a turbulent place at times, sometimes people leave for a while, sometimes even get kicked off. Some just disappear but still pop up occasionally in conversations among TN members. But now, when making an none-to-frequent visit to the Grate Site, one has to get to grips with the fact that some of the people who embody TN - who's post you seek out, who's opinions you respect, who always gives a new angle on issues, the people who makes it worthwhile to return again and again to TN - you have to get to grips with the fact that they are no longer here. Not lurking somewhere out there on the interweb but really gone from this world.

I cannot claim to have been friends with either King Sargent or Geoff but it pisses me off to no end that good people like them have to leave us - and with them qualities that are just too rare in todays world.

RIP, Geoff

Tanknet is just like my RL Family, in that it seems to take a death to get everyone together again.

I remember Rocky's suggestion in the wake of kin's passing - Sit in the living room, dim the lights, get a good glass of scotch and some good music and remember the man.

OK, so you described a random Thursday. :P

I guess there's no satisfying way to do it virtually. Bummer.

Does anyone here have a more comprehensive biography of Geoff?

I contacted Sally about doing one. She seemed to think that it was a good idea, and asked me to sit tight for the next few days while the family sorts things out, pending their permission to proceed.

I didn't think to ask if there was one extant, but then she didn't mention one.

Pick one day - no posting on Tanknet or MLU.

With a note to posters - sign off, go out side, breath deep, be thankful for the sunrise.

The reason I asked, I was thinking about doing a tribute page on my web site like I have done for volunteers that have died, such as here, http://armorfortheag...offmannPage.htm since Geoff was the host of my web site. But maybe instead it would be beter to do it on TN, along with one for King, as permanent fixtures, so that new members have a reference for the most revered ones who have gone.
