I thought all the T62s went after 2008. How many do they have left?

Great picture of the 2S7's there.

I too was quite surprised at the appearance of T-62M's (fitted to fire the Sheksna missile or not).  Maybe just there because a local unit had them available?

Interesting BMP and BTR variant in the 5th image as well...command vehicles or maybe artillery observation?

T-62s there due to part of that exercise being testing of un-conservation and fitting for action of old stuff.

I think some T-62 MV were even upgraded in around 2005.

What are those vehicles in the 4th picture behind the MBTs?  Are they 2S25s?

Shakedown before being shipped to Syria.

Honestly, Simon, the units on shakedown might include those ZSU-23-4s.  I found it interesting that there are no fewer than 6 of those SPAAGs in that last picture.  I wonder if Vostok includes live-fire anti-drone exercises, since those old ZSU-23-4s could still be useful in such a role with moderate upgrades.

The photo is also interesting for having a PRP Artillery Recon Vehicle and a BTR based EW vehicle in the foreground:

Yes. Good percent of whole fleet tbh.

They have the 1K13-1 sight so they are ATGM capable. Local units have the T-72 etc but there are still many T-55 and T-62 in storage bases.

That was an offer to upgrade existing tanks with Kontakt-5 but it was mainly aimed at the export market. The Russian military never bought it.

I thought some without the ATGM capability got a slightly better night vision system.

There are still plenty of Shilka's in service with the Russian army. Not all units got the Tunguska.

There seems to be this general idea that "most units" have the T-90, BMP-3, 2S19, 2S6 (some articles even mention the BTR-90!!) but in reality you still find A LOT of T-72, BMP-2, 2S1/2S3 and ZSU-23-4.

About the T-80UD: as far as I know Ukraine only had 12-16 when they became independent.

As I understand those were vehicles in institutions, but there were more in factories/training areas. According to information supplied in otvaga forum:

Kiev Higher Tank Engineering School : 6
Kharkov Guards Higher Tank Command School: 53
115# BTRZ Factory: 81
Kiev Combined Arms Command Higher School: 11

Out of these 145 were supplied to Pakistan.

Interesting bit of information there.  Thank you Geronimo.  Do you happen to know if the T-62MV was a success and it was ever exported in any number?  There seem to be very few pictures of ERA-equipped T-62's (although that in itself says little really), and those vehicles may or may not be T-62M's anyway.
