Could well be a Type 59 due to the position of the headlights on the vehicle.  It would seem most of the 100mm-armed Type 69's have headlights mounted on the fenders where-as the Type 59's retained the T-54 headlight position.

Later Type 69's with 105mm (think Type 69-IV perhaps) replaced the headlights again behind the splash board.

Does the PLA still have Type 69's in its active inventory or have they all been exported, used as range targets or scrapped by now?

Good point on the headlights.  I think the 105mm version would have to be the Type 69-III. Someone might be able to help with the last question, my guess would be a few left for training at best.

There is also apparently a prototype 125mm L60 version:

It has what looks like 122mm howitzer, so most probably SP-arty.

It is a 122mm SPA, the PLL-09: http://www.military-...lery/pll_09.htm

The direct fire version is the ZTL 09, or for export 'ST-1' with 105 mm  - and as I noted above, there is also an experimental assault gun with the Chinese 125mm L60.

There are many good pictures of Type 08 variants in here: http://mil.qq.com/a/.../011390.htm#p=1

Wikipedia also has a decent article on the "Type 08 series" of vehicles here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_08

I wonder if the "Type 11" and the "ST-1" with their 105mm guns can use the same ammunition then?

Does anyone know if the Type 11 is already in service with the PLA or if it is still in testing/trial stage?

AFAICT Type 11 is ZTL-09/ZTL-11, and yes it is in service. ZTL-11 seems to be the designation for the marines variant. ST-1 lacks the amphibious capability of ZTL-11/9

It seems all of them use L7 derivative guns, ammunition will be interchangeable with Type 80/85/88

Thank you KV7.  Some of the designations of these new Chinese AFV's confuse me somewhat and the vehicles do appear pretty similar as well.  NORINCO sure seems to have been busy these last few years with all these new designs coming out!

Yes, they certainly are prolific.

I hope they put the 125mm L60 monstrosity TD into production.
