It looked like a good idea at the time. ... Shame it didn't work because that steampunk gun vs a 98 with a trench mag would be so much fun to watch.

I know next to nothing about gunsmithing, and only marginally more about machining and job-shop metal bashing, but you don't really need skills to realise that launching the gas block downrange is not quite right.

The lack of fit and finish quality on the monstrosity means that the only way I'd have pulled the trigger would have been with a long piece of string.
