Been playing this for the past couple of days, and its pretty good. Comes across as something of a cross between Spy Game, Jason Bourne and the Xcom series of games. I can detect just a hint of the old Microprose game Covert action in there as well.

Its difficult, very difficult, even on medium. I am trying to figure out where to get some silencers, because there are some infiltration missions when you could well do with them.

As far as the tactical movements, its brilliant. Some purists will say that its not great bullets never miss, but in truth you can have graze which can do limited damage. And at short range, and with highly skilled urban combat specialists, I guess its up to debate how often people would miss anyway.

I regularly have one of my team wounded, and rather than leave them behind to get tortured and turned, I have to pick them up to lift them out. Which is a complete swine, because the guy doing the carrying can not surprisingly no longer shoot.  So this is really quite clever.

So last night I found a Beholder (terrorist group) cell. So I had 2 of my peeps dress up as construction workers (they look disturbingly like a member of the village people) and sent them in to break all their safes and steal secret documents (also got an M16 and some dum dum's, so it was a good nights work) but lacking silencers, I had to pace myself and karate chop everyone when they werent looking. Went well until the last one, when she wised up to what my people were doing and opened up with a submachine gun. So I brought my support group out from where they were hiding, and took her out (she was well trained and had high hit points)  with a pump action shotgun and a Bren gun. Then the support team of the bad guys came in, and I only just made the exfiltration point, backed up by the guy with the bren gun laying down suppressive as the van arrived.

I wouldnt call it realistic. Fun? Well yes, but Ill feel a lot happier when I can kit my team out with silencers so we can be proper ninja's.

...not, that silencers would bring Ninja-level silence to firearms. Since you brought up "realism".

Well it is a game. :)

Using unsilenced weapons brings down the response team of about 4 guys. Then 5 turns after that another 4, and so on. So whilst its laudable to rock and roll on egress, doing so early on in the moves just makes the whole level unplayable. Which i guess is fair enough.
