Well at the Murphy house, since we have a traditionally non traditional Irish/Texan/Tejano/Mexican meal, lets detail what I am fixing up tomorrow:
Turkey- Oven roasted regrettably since my HOA has outlawed Turkey friers.
Chicken Fajitas
Guacamole made fresh
Dressing (Stuffing for those north of here ilk)
Spanish Rice
Pinto Beans
Praline Pecan sweet potatoes (No marshmallows here, no sir, not at all.)
Flour Tortillas
Fresh Irish soda bread made from scratch
French bread
Dutch apple pie
Pecan pie
Praline Sweet potatoes:
2 cans of sweet potatoes (or five large ones freshly baked)
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup heavy cream (OPTIONAL)
 2 tablespoons of melted butter
Mix till a very smooth puree and put in the baking dish (9"x13" or slightly bigger)
2 cups of firmly packed brown sugar
2 small packages of pecan pieces (6/8 oz)
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup melted butter (use 3/4 cup if no cream)
Mix all together well.  spread evenly on top of the sweet potatoes.
Bake 350 F for 30 minutes (Watch for burning!!!!).
It is like a sweet bit of heaven at the table.  I never have any left.

Dried beef dip

Cheese and summer sausage

Pecan smoked turkey breast

Roast turkey legs and thighs

Manchego mashed potatoes

Green bean casserole

Corn casserole

Sage stuffing

Roasted beets and carrots

Fresh baked bread

White chocolate macadamia nut cookies

Pumpkin pie

Dried Beef Dip

1 (2 1/2 ounce) jar dried beef, finely chopped
3 -4 green onions, chopped (i like a lot of onion in mine)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1⁄4-1⁄2 cup sour cream (add enough to make a creamy consistency)
garlic powder to taste
Mix everything together with a mixer, serve with the town house or other crackers.  You can rinse the dried beef  before chopping to reduce the amount of salt.

Simple country fare at my sister's house:
Baked ham
Field peas
String beans

Chocolate pie

Sweet potato pie.

I gorged on the veggies, very little dessert.  Nothing like home-grown, home cooked veggies!! :)

Shep854 I know what you mean. My 90 year old grandmother uses lard, butter, and a to die for bacon grease/vinegar dressing for the veggies she still grows out of her garden and still does the old-fashioned home canning at her farm house. Usually these posts are who has the most lists of food so hear goes:

Appetizers of:  green onions wrapped in chipped beef/cream cheese, venison sausage and summer sausage -- both with various cheeses and crackers, and a raw vege tray with ranch dip. The main courses are: butter smothered turkey, honey-glazed ham, slow simmered chicken/dumplings, spiced oyster and non-oyster dressing, sweet potato casserole with the obligatory mini-marshmallows, green beans, broccoli/cauliflower salad, a cottage cheese/pineapple something(aka as manna ),  mashed potatoes, yeast rolls, blackberry cobbler, cheesecake with cherry topping, pumpkin pie with whipped buttercream topping, chocolate ice cream, white chocolate covered chex-mix and to top if all off, an old bottle of Tums and Pepto-Bismol :D. And, leftovers for, literally, days.
