Amusingly the local web server had Tank-net blocked as having "weapons" content. But I guess my request to have it allowed had been accepted.

That a US Mil server or the Kyrgyz censor?
I think several of us posted from bishkek over the years...Weird...

Do yourself a favour and go grab yourself some Kymyz

....fermented mares' milk. (no green queasy emoticon available) I'll try almost anything once, but that is outside the boundaries of "almost" for me.

It's whomever is providing the local unsecured internet service. I can't recall the company, but they said/warned us that it went thru China (as opposed to sat).

You drink milk and eat yoghurt right?
Imagine drinking milk-consistency vanilla yoghurt that is slightly fizzy.

Its actually alright! :D

So, those poor things of Taliban will be exposed to endless rants about dog flatulence, LICspeak, precise usage of the English language, and obscure talks about the fate of each Infantry battalion in the ACW, each US company in WWII, and each squad in GW. Not to talk about the finer points of why the Sherman was a better tank than that piece of sucking called the Tiger.

They will be claiming their women, virgin, 72 each only by listening!

More seriously, take care all of you.

(and don't let MM -sporting digging tools- near any UX IEDs ;) ).

I'd like to see the TankNet crew modding their vehicles with loud speakers playing LICspeak recorded by Chris Werb and TonyE as PsychOps. Oh, don't forget the PC v Mac debates hehehe ;)

Thanks everyone. I will post when I can. Currently I'm at Manas AB in Kajikistan staging and trying to adjust to the local time.. It's a small but nice place. Pretty good facilities equal to some CONUS bases (Army anyway).
Amusingly the local web server had Tank-net blocked as having "weapons" content. But I guess my request to have it allowed had been accepted.
Should make the hop to Baghram in a few days.

Bagram's a pretty good base, fairly clean as far as Asscrackistan standards go.

Staying up north for the snow or heading south for the party?

Regards

Mike Spann, Northern Lights and Marmal in the north are all fairly nice. Transit quarters at KAIA are pretty bad (although the catering is OK). Bring Cash, almost no credit card readers in those places (CNL PX has one).
