Yes, this is going in the History Forum: This grand lady was a member of the British Armed Forces in WW2.
She was awarded the Burma Star for service in that theatre.
She was "the Forces' Sweetheart", and amongst many songs, she did the British version of 'Iili Marlene'.
She is a true veteran of 1939 - 1945.
I wonder if Liz will have her over for a cuppa and maybe a sherry or two in Buckingham Palace on Monday? Perhaps they will sing together quietly in their memories?
