Amazon has announced casting for first characters for their Wheel of Time project, starts shooting this autumn. Still my favorite series, even though books 9-11 or so sucked, I have a combination of high hopes and trepidation about what is going to come about.

Looking forward to all that hot braid tugging action.

WAR!(hammer) ! HUH! WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?!

OK, nobody bit, so I'll throw the flag; 5 yards for unsolicited 1970s pop culture reference. Replay of down.

Been watching the new Ken Burns documentary on Country Music, it's been good so far.  It's made up of two hour episodes, so I usually watch an hour or so over lunch every day.  Not sure if it is region locked or not, but you can stream the episodes here https://www.pbs.org/...adcast-version/

Been watching "The Spy" on Netflix and I'm enjoying it. It's nice to see Sasha Baron Cohen in a dramatic role.

I found an old copy of Ken Burns' documentary on Huey Long. We'll see...

Arthur was shooting up half of London with what appeared to be a Soviet DP27 Machine gun in Episode 5.

Just seen the the first Episode of the TV series of 'The Name of the Rose' on British TV. Very good indeed if the first episode is any guide.

Stuart, have you seen the trailers for "World on Fire"? The CGI looks excellent. Far better than the recent, essentially non-CGI, Dunkirk film.

Also, to say I'm looking forward to this would be an understatement.  I think this is a trailer for the series before they aborted it last time around.

So they're STILL working on it...that teaser trailer was supposedly 'fan made' and not a 'real' teaser trailer.

Yeah, it sounds interesting, but im wary. Much as I otherwise loved Band of Brothers, the CGI fest they turned the first parachute assault into makes me cringe. What I really want is CGI that can make something look as good as this.

Yeah, im enjoying world on fire. We have yet to get to the Dunkirk bit, Ive a feeling that might be the next episode. Its perhaps a little faster moving than I feel comfortable with, but I can understand why. They have to grab audiences by the neck these days. Its otherwise well done.
