Annnd tribalism continues to polarize.

This is non-binding feel good circle jerk type symbolic resolution that changes nothing and carries no weight, but it's what it represents.  I get the two sides will never see eye to eye but using political clout to start labeling people who disagree with you as enemies of the state... that gets real dangerous real quick.

San Francisco Officials Designate NRA a Domestic Terrorist Organization

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution Tuesday declaring the National Rifle Association a domestic terrorist organization and urging other municipalities to do the same.

The resolution calls out the NRA for inciting acts of violence and spreading "misinformation and propaganda" and encourages the city to assess and limit contracts with vendors affiliated with the NRA, but does not put in place any official enforcement mechanisms or new regulations.

"The NRA conspires to limit gun violence research, restrict gun violence data sharing and most importantly aggressively tries to block every piece of sensible gun violence prevention legislation proposed on any level, local state or federal," said Supervisor Catherine Stefani, who sponsored the measure. A longtime advocate for gun safety, Stefani also introduced a resolution earlier this year that authorized the San Francisco Police Department to use funds from the U.S. Department of Justice to help improve the collection, management and analysis of gun-crime evidence.

"When they use phrases like, 'I'll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands' on bumper stickers, they are saying reasoned debate about public safety should be met with violence," she said.

Tuesday's resolution notes America's "epidemic of gun violence, including over 36,000 deaths, and 100,000 injuries each year." It also highlights the striking frequency of mass shootings nationwide, specifically noting a massacre in nearby Gilroy in July that left four people dead, including two children.

In addition, it mentions a notable increase in hate crimes since 2015, and the growing number of guns in the U.S., which currently exceeds the country’s total population.

In a statement before the vote, NRA spokeswoman Amy Hunter said, "This ludicrous stunt by the Board of Supervisors is an effort to distract from the real problems facing San Francisco, such as rampant homelessness, drug abuse and skyrocketing petty crime."

"The board is wasting taxpayer dollars to declare five million law-abiding Americans domestic terrorists, and it’s shameful," she added.

Sure, there will be no problem with them having red flag law powers.

The Texas shooter broke the law to get his gun, I'm shocked!

Greg Abbott
@GregAbbott_TX
Law-enforcement say they identified a person they suspect illegally manufactured & sold the rifle used in the Odessa shooting.

We want to keep guns out of hands of criminals who break the law...

...without infringing on the rights of law-abiding Texans.

They should pass another law to prevent him from breaking the first law.

Maybe they could make it illegal to shoot people.

Good point. The rule of law is pointless.

Who needs an AR-15 to defend their home???

This guy who found himself being shot at by three thugs in the middle of the night. The score, good guy 3, bad guys 0, 2 dead, 1 wounded.

For better or worse, such tribalism also appears to be increasingly common. Tribals are the new angels in Tony Kushner's America.

For those of you who watch the tv news, see if this makes the headlines, or even a mention.

It does not fit "The Narrative".  Therefore nothing to see here.

The article must have been updated as all three died. Two at the scene and one later in hospital.

Interestingly and typically, the media here have tried to report it as a "stand your ground" case when it's a home owner confronted by 3 masked men AT his home.  :glare:

The usual suspects don't even understand what stand your ground entails, it's just another set of buzzwords for them to describe as something they hate and needs to be removed from law no matter the circumstances.

They read the headlines and not the articles, so its no surprise they havent a clue about stand your ground (or even the AWB) but it sure wont stop people from citing it... and if you bring it up, well youre being disproportionately unfair to ignorant pundits and that doesnt support a doctrine of equality of outcome when compared to more competent pundits, which is racist or something.

Why was it reported that the assailants were shooting at his neighbors?

Three bustouts got blasted to death in Chicago in one shooting last night, just another night, only noted because it was a weekday.  S/F....Ken M

Because the media reports everything and doesn't wait for the dust to settle before releasing what ever rumor was heard from a some fellow who heard it from his mothers, brothers, cousin's wife who was there.

What ever they were doing, shooting at the home owner or his neighbor, they were apparently wearing masks, at 4am, shooting. They were obviously not there selling bibles or out to visit their sick grandmother.

And once again, deafening silence from America's Left.

The old phrase was, "soft bigotry of low expectations." It is increasingly clear that said phrase overly soft-pedals the Left's feels towards POCs. Its not just hard bigotry, it is full on sociopathy (I just re-skimmed a web page on Cloward-Piven a couple of nights ago, and re-angered).

East St. Louis, IL; 10.09/10k murders

Chester, PA; 6.74

Gary, IN; 6.01

St. Louis, MO; 5.98

Baltimore, MD; 5.14

The small city in the middle of my metro area, which is regionally known for violent crime, is at roughly 1.1 murders per 10k. My own fair city has a rate of 0.30.

They were only kicking doors down and shooting at innocent victims because midnight basketball was de-funded.

For reference, London was about 1.3 per 100k last year, but is rising.
