Over here is a neat little art project asking people to redesign the US bank notes. Lord knows it needs doing, our banknote are fairly gruesome. Here are some I liked.

Without a doubt the best of the lot:

I always get a chuckle out of the new Iranian 50,000 riyal notes ($5USD) with their big atomic symbol on them.

That one looks like a Rorschach test.

Got a pic? I wonder if the money changers here have that. Would love to get one to add to my collection of coins and paper money. :D

Note also the clear latin marking of 'Persian Gulf' - About two years ago there was a massive stink when the French geographic society, the Lourve, American Nat Geo Society and a few others started marking maps with 'Arabian Gulf' as well as Persian Gulf, it was a big thing here and one of the measures taken was to rename just about every major inter-city highway 'Khalij e Fars Highway' (Persian Gulf highway)

When the foreigners relented, it was seen as a big victory here.

If I've got any when I leave here I'll mail one to you :)

Why thank you Luke. Much appreciated. :)

Doug: The images subforum has apparently since become a stockpile for miscellanea images.

That article doesn't work for me, can't continue off the first page of it.

Either way I am fine with the $ as it is. Personally I like the first concept but I insist that we keep "In God we Trust" on it, mainly because it pisses off a minority of whiners that I detest.
