Not fun for us clickers neither. Artillery play has become monotonous. Just lob Valium downrange. Shoot gold for bigger splash. Crappy spotters. Not fun as it used to be with AP and realistic accuracy. The joys of limited maps, limited useful spaces to go, and clickers.
In two games with my Tiger P crew (one in the Tiger P and the other in the VK 7201) I'm top tier and the only heavy in a 3/5/7 MM spread. I go to the 'heavy' spot and subsequently get focused by the 2-3 clickers on the other team for the entire game. Keep in mind they stun you for over 10s. If they stagger fire (which they were) I was basically stunned for over half the game with my only means to counter it a Large Health Kit with a 90s reload.
What mouthbreather on the dev team is leaving this as is?!
(BTW, we won both games. I did my part, soaked the clicker spam, and still managed to push. It's just not fun.)

No Brooklyn class light cruisers in this game? Nor Tone class heavy cruiser?
Aside from Harold's comment, there is apparently a USN cruiser split coming, with higher tier CLs being added and the Cleveland restored to some of its closed beta glory but moved to tier 8 in the CL line.
Get your US cruisers researched now if you want to take advantage of the split.

To old to be a gamer, but from my brief review of WoW, aircraft carriers are given the short end of the stick. They should be sweeping the seas in the daytime, as they did in real life!

They did for a while, the only people who had any fun were the carrier drivers. Then they nerfed them so hard no one wanted to play them. They are still searching for a way to make them fun to play but not over powered. I won't go into full rant mode, but they shouldn't even be a playable class.

In that case, I would think WoW from, say the early 1900's to 1920?

If all you're doing is logging in to get the occasional gaming 'fix' is there any reason to keep tier 10s? The gold spam at top tiers is just cancer and not something I'm willing to partake in. I'm really tempted to sell off about half my tier 10s and buy up the few mid-tier vehicles I'm interested in.

Driving tier 6-8 tanks is the sweet-spot for this game.
The tier 10s I got were mostly to get confirmed that the grass is definately not greener over there.
I would only keep the ones I really really like, and instead go for the fun part of the game.
Bolded bit was definitely true til this advent calendar sale started. Selling the E25 and now the Skorpion G has flooded those tiers with OP P2W vehicles for a while.
I'm thinking of selling off the tech tree meds and keeping the reward tanks for obvious reasons. Credit earning is still fairly easy (the Panther/M10 makes about 85% of what my T34 does and never has to face anything above 8, I'm loving it!) so I can eventually get them all back.
I've been back up at tier 10 occasionally speeding up my Tiger P crew (coming from the 3001P they got dropped to 80% on retraining). It's just... frustrating how the community seems ok with the new gold spam meta.

So... let's put together a dream inventory for tiers 6-8. Personally the main criteria I have is the vehicles need to have fairly high silver pen. I don't want to fire gold. I just want to be able to load up any vehicle, jump in a game, compete, and not have to jump in a premium afterwards to cover. Secondary criteria is high dpm. With armor being mostly negligible at mid tiers you simply need to kill the other guy faster than he can kill you. I've been looking at win rates on vbaddict coupled to my own experience from playing the last two months and the below is what I'm coming up with.
TDs - The first thing I wanted were some turreted TDs since I don't know the maps well enough yet to do well in the limited traverse ones. Per vbaddict the Hellcat and Jackson were looking promising but from what I've gathered the stats on those are, sadly, being bumped up by folks taking the 76mm guns and spamming gold. When you do that with those two you get a dpm boost of ~25% over taking the 90mm. A good alternative to them at tier 6 seems to be the Achilles. Great silver pen for the tier, dpm approaching gold-spamming 76mm guns, with the one downside being less depression. Nothing grabbed my attention at tier 7 from any tree and tier 8 the clear choice is the Rhm Borsig. Honorable mention would be, when I learn the maps, the Nashorn, St. Emil, ISU-152, and UDES.
Meds - I already have the 3002M, Panther/M10, and M4A3E8. Have, but don't play, the Cromwell, Panther 88, and Schwarz 58. One med I've heard about is the A-44 using the 57mm. You have insane dpm but you'd have to throw a lot of gold for it to be useful I imagine. Otherwise nothing else for mediums really seems to draw my attention.
Heavies - The only one on my list is the VK 100.01P. Let's be blunt - it's OP (anyone else find it comical the vast difference in capability between the 100.01 and the 45.02?). It's the only heavy in that range that would let me play like a heavy from what I've seen. I've heard mixed views about the IS-3 - that's it's still good to it's frustrating to play given all the OP P2W premiums at 8 that outclass it. I'm leaning towards the latter as I've rarely seen anyone do great in an IS-3. The T29 is another one I'm unsure of. I can do great in the T34 one tier higher facing against 10s but that gun is vastly better (248 pen vs 198).
Lights - Already have the 2801, M41, and 132. Own but don't have a crew in the autoloader T71. Aiming to someday get to the LTTB. Can't say I've been impressed with the French lights at these tiers.
So... my list of what I have and use and for sure am getting right now is:
TDs - Achilles, Rhm Borsig
Meds - 3002M, Panther/M10, M4A3E8
Heavies - VK 100.01 P
Lights - 2801, M41, 132, T71 DA, LTTB
Any other suggestions for high pen, decent dpm vehicles in the 6-8 tier range?

/sigh...
Hit rank 8 with the holiday event and used the discount to finally get the Borsig. First game in it do 4k dmg... but killed at the end from successive clicker fire (all of whom are under 50% w/r after tens of thousands of games) once I was spotted. Once I was gone team falls apart.

I recently got back IS with 100mm and it is quite decent. T29 is good as ever also.
Light - LTG, LTTB, 2801, autoloader T71, M41, WZ-131 (better for it's tier than WZ-132 is for own).
Meds - 3001P, E2, E8, T20 (basically whole US med line is great), A-43, T-34-85, Pershing
TD - Jackson with 90mm, SU-100 (both 100 and 122mm), JagdPanther II

The best cure against the Clickerati would propably be if all teams at the start of each battle just teamkill their own clickers and then play the battle, it would propably make the battles way more enjoyable for all.

Firefly was one of the vehicles I tried when first coming back two months ago. I had started playing it right around the time I quit so it had a crew and equipment still on it. Sadly it was a fairly big letdown. Mobility is awful for a medium and almost across the board the VK3002M is superior. The Achilles has the 17-pdr as well while having better mobility than the Firefly and far better camo than both the Firefly and VK.
Looking over the Firefly it's kind of odd how it's left as is. Balance in this game still needs a lot of work. I guess the plus side is it's not AW levels of bad... yet.

The JP2 has me puzzled. First, I had thought I had played it back in the day but the tech tree is showing it unresearched and it's not in my service record. Second, my understanding was its 'niche' was that it was fairly mobile but tanks.gg seems to show it really only had better top speed (which is big, don't get me wrong). Third, vbaddict is showing the Ferdinand as having a significantly better w/r than both the JP2 and ISU. Did the Ferdi get buffed in recent years? My understanding was all the powercreep left it a fairly easy pen and it doesn't really have any advantages over the JP2 per tanks.gg comparison tool.

The JP II was my favorite TD, big gun, possibility of surviving a hit and able to move fast.
