I still have no idea what these things are intended to achieve, but they're beautiful and fun to watch :)

You can say that about any piece of military equipment though. All war is futile, but its still interesting.

Something along the lines of when dressing for one’s job becomes a necessary element of it.

Pictures released by the MOD show UK F-35 Lightning jets landing, taking off and hovering onboard Britain’s next generation aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth for the first time.

The Japanese Navy would be well served to send an observer or two, if it has not done so already.

"The @USNavy's largest helicopter"

The Royal Navy may want to research the V-22 a little.  ;)

Does the USN still own its own '53s for mine clearance? Technically the transport helos are USMC.

Yeah, its a little unkind isnt it. :D

We are going to use Chinook for COD. It will be interesting to see how well that works out.

Im reliably informed the MOD is now looking at these. They have already been doing trials with the Ski Jump as you can see.

I notice the guy giving the command to launch is now using American hand signals, and we no longer use the wonderfully old school green flag as we do in this video. I can understand why, but its a bit of a shame. The irony is these now come aboard so slow, we could probably start using paddles again. :)
