I had considered posting this in the 'Because India' thread, but you know, anything to stop the 2 minute hate which is becoming boringly monotonous on both sides.

https://uk.reuters.c...dName=worldNews

KONNEY/NEW DELHI, India (Reuters) - Bussa Krishna first began worshipping Donald Trump four years ago when the U.S. president appeared to him a dream.

Since then, after a run of good fortune, the Indian real estate broker has transformed his modest home into a shrine to the U.S. leader, who is due in India on Monday for a two-day visit.

“My love for him has transformed into reverence. That has given me immense happiness. Hence instead of praying to other gods, I started praying to him,” Krishna told Reuters.

Krishna, who lives alone in a village in the southern state of Telangana, has erected a life-size statue to Trump in his yard, while his walls are scrawled with the leader’s name - to the annoyance of his extended family.

“I am facing difficulties because of my relatives,” Krishna said. “They tell me that I am disgracing them in society. I told them that just like you believe and worship Shiva, I believe and worship Trump. Neither of us can stop the other from doing so.”

Well, if you have multiple gods what's one more?

this dude calling people liars, where's moderator?

I check this from a phone, so I don't see all the choices, but isn't there a report-function?
But if you are gonna go down the name-calling- or insult-line, this topic would have died 250.000 posts ago.
For me on the side-line I'd like to see more counter-arguments than "he's annoying, I don't like him, therefore I am right".

You wonder what effect that image would have on people either side of the political divide whilst taking drugs. It would be an interesting experiment. :D

Ive come to the conclusion, and its where I went wrong at first, and where LD still goes wrong. Trump isnt about any physical reality, its an emotional appeal. Or like UFO's. You either Believe or you dont Believe. Logic and evidence doesn't really enter into it.

Ive never looked at politicians with a mixture of reference and hope, so Its why I made the mistake that evidence and fact would make a difference. I think people support Trump to get away from those kind of things.

Stuart, are TankNet's masochistic? Trump's success has been fully explained multiply times. And after November of this year, you can see further success for the next four years after that.

There is nothing wrong with Liberalism, anymore than there is anything wrong with Republicanism. There isnt anything wrong with Conservatism, there isnt anything wrong with Socialism. As always, people go far to far with what sometimes are good ideas. We really have to get away from this idea that ideas are right and wrong for all time, and the people that support them saintly or fools. At times, both are true.

Stuart, are TankNet's masochistic? Trump's success has been fully explained multiply times. And after November of this year, you can see further success for the next four years after that.

Im reminded of a review program where the people were interviewing a Michael Crichton book (Airframe I believe), and one reviewer said he was a bloody terrible author. It was pointed out many novels he sold, and the reviewer replied 'That doesnt make him a good author. It makes him a good salesman'. :D

I believe the same is true about Trump. Whatever his flaws as a human being, he is without doubt one of the finest salesmen on the face of the planet. And really, thats all he needs to be. On present evidence, he doesn't need to do anything at all. He can fail on absolutely every policy, blame the Liberal opposition, and he will be forgiven. Its a talent, but if you want the swamp drained, the wall put up, deprived regions in America reenergized, the infrastructure rebuilt, the US Military Rebuilt, your enemies defeated, he wont do any of these things. But he will make you all feel good about yourselves, and in the end, thats all a politician needs to do to be reelected. Im convinced he will get a second term because of it.

I had a Friend called mike I worked with about 20 years ago. He was a fairly amiable, likeable fellow. Got a bit drunk sometimes, but he was in his 20s, thats the kind of thing you do when you are in your 20's I gather. There was a woman in our factory who was about 20-30 years older than him. She was, as my father would have delicately put, 'well trod on'. And one night, Mike got drunk, and such things happen, he woke up next to her the next morning. Imagine his horror waking up to a woman who looked exceptionally attractive drunk, and discovering her morning face was not quite so delightful.

That is pretty much how I would have felt about Donald Trump. I would have recognized he was a better choice than Clinton, sure. I would have fallen for his faux Socialist arguments and voted for him. And then I would have woken up the next morning quietly crying into my pillow at the horror of what I had done. :)

As [the lying moron] has turned the economy around and got things rolling again (simply by taking the government boot off business' throats) (...)

Seriously, why do you repeat this nonsense? The economy has "turned around" about a decade ago and has not broken with its macro trends since the change of administration at all.

This was mentioned here before.

In fact, all that hugely expensive fiscal stimulus yielded no improvement fo the trend, which is a colossal economic policy failure.

What's the point of living in fantasyland?

It would be irreconcilable with my honour to retreat into such delusions.

All of your citations prove what I wrote about the economy was true. The recession  officially ended in June 2009 because the economy started expanding already in January 2009. The definition of a recession is when an economy contracts for at least six months. The definition of a recovery is after an economy has expanded for at least six months. Those two contradict themselves. If the authorities declare a recession exactly when it starts then they should declare a recovery exactly when it starts also. But they don't. Instead they used bureaucratic double talk of the sort that could cause George Orwell to blush. People who are properly educated and of sound mind must reject anti logic and lies from government officials. Do you?

LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE. JWB IS A LIAR.

First, he pretends that anyone should care if he redefines economic terminology.

Yet even if he had that power, he would still lie:

Quarter 1 2009 had -4.4% growth relative to preceding quarter.
https://fred.stlouis...A191RL1Q225SBEA

and -3.3% growth relative to Q1/2008.
https://fred.stlouis...A191RO1Q156NBEA

LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE. JWB IS A LIAR.

And when he tries to claim otherwise, he just adds another lie (and talks bullshit about actual subject matter experts).

------------------

Now there are three things I don't understand:

1) Why would anyone be so inept at lying.

2) Why would anyone dare to keep the bullshit coming in front of me.

3) Why are you guys not offended by being lied at by JWB and others here? They're disrespecting you.

It will be the ever expanding investigation that will take far longer, roll past the election where if Trump loses, it dies or if he wins, it will be anohter "mistakes were made but we won't/can't indict for a thousand different reasons. Let's just have more powerpoint continuing ed and call it a day" white washes with Trump now backed into a corner of having to disavow his own AG or take it and like it. We're now hearing "we can't indict in DC because the grand jury/jury pool/judge is too tainted with Trump haters to get anywhere". If that's the case then we're cooked because everyone of these cases will have to go through DC.

Well people claim everything from Roswell, to Bigfoot to the Loch Ness monster exist. I'd happily believe such things, but in that, and in politics, I'm not going to deliver my credulity to other people's hands without evidence.

It was very strange, sure. But there was an article on the drive that suggest they were possibly a very sophisticated drone. There have been studies by us military contractors back to the mid 50s in antigravity. Maybe even the previous decade of claims about Nazi involvement in the search for zero point have any truth to them.
