What is "Strike Length"? Able to accommodate a Tomahawk or similar length weapon?

Yes, it's the full length silo. Mk41 Tactical is what is most commonly sold abroad, it can take SM-2MR but not ER or Tomahawk. So it is surprising that Strike length siloes are considered for rather small Finnish vessels.
Any way, the design is still work in progress and funding even more so.

Mk41 was designed for three lengths:

  • Self defense: at just more than than 17 feet (5.2 meters)
  • Tactical: approximately 22 feet (6.7 meters) long
  • Strike: 25 feet (7.6 meters) long

Missile load outs are as Yama has already explained.  Note that these are the external lengths of the cannisters; the maximum length of missile is substantially less.

AFAIK, the USN only uses strike length and no one uses self defense.  I believe the self-defense was sized for the Sea Sparrow, but Sea Sparrow / ESSM users went for the Mk48 VLS instead. All of the Mk41s can quad pack the ESSM; the Mk48 can 'dual pack' it.

The Mk57 is similar in size to the Strike version but accommodates a higher volume of missile exhaust.

For comparison, the Euro Sylver VLS was designed for four lengths; in each case the numeric designation is the length in meters (35 = 3.5m, 43 = 4.3m and so on)

  • A35: Takes MICA or quad pack Croatle
  • A43: MICA, quad pack Croatle or Aster 15
  • A50: same as A43 plus Aster 30
  • A70: Aster 15 and 30 plus SCALP cruise missile

4 MK 41 silos are for 4 new corvettes (FFL), though their size may increase.

Mk 41 could take 32 ESSM, which is considerable amount of SAM firepower, with SSM in other launchers (main competitors are NSM, RBS15 mk3+ and Harpoon).

New torpedo is also in development with Swedish, Torp 47.
