A new transmission with better reverse is sorely needed. Those B3s have the T-90MS skirts but no bar armor to the rear. Russia has enough T-72s to keep itself and clients supplied for a while but how will they retain Omsk as a second capability?


Omsk produced T-80s during the 80s. Lack of orders caused the company to go bankrupt in the 90s. Now they carry out maintenance and upgrades.

According to Kommersant, T-90 deliveries to Azerbaijan continued in 2016.


If true, this would point to additional 100 T-90S which was a option in the first contract. The original contract was completed in the first quarter of 2015.
