Local joke it is equal chance of Ante Pavelic, Alexander I Karadjordjevic or Franz Josef.

Franz Joseph is  a good bet. He ruled long enough.

Irony is that Nikola was one of the few local royals whose picture on the wall would not get anyone in troubles during communist times - other being Petar I (on insistance of Koca Popovic due the 'socialist laws he championed and his personal struggle for a freedom of the all Yugoslav people') and Djordje Karadjordjevic. Last one even lived in Belgrade post ww2 and was burried with full military honors as a decorated ww1 veteran.

And how did that life look like?

Way better than before war under his own brother Aleksandar, or relative Pavle.

Google him if you want to know more.

IIRC state pension (as a partially disabled veteran), plus rented one of his two flats.

Years ago the mother-in-law began reading the 'Exorcist She said it was the most evil book she had ever read. So evil, in fact she couldn't finish it, so she went over to the beach and threw it off the fishing pier.

I went and bought another copy, ran the faucet over it and put in the drawer of her night table by her bed.

The father-in-law said that was the only time she screamed and fainted.

I'm going to hell, but I will go laughing.

I was thinking that the amusing thing in this whole debate is NPCs being offended by being called NPCs by other NPCs. :D

putting the two pics with NPCs and thier instructions next to each other illustrates that:

The difference I see is one side is horribly offended, and the other side enjoys the joke - even if they are the butt of the joke. The NPC meme is quite revealing on who has the sense of humor, and who rushes to report and shut it down.
