Got a copy for Christmas and have been devouring it today (while feeling incredibly morbid). Seems excellent(1) so far -- for starters, a useful corrective to the whole portrayal of the Holocaust as a high-tech super-efficient mass project. Will write a further review soon, but highly recommended.

1) Trying to find the appropriate laudatory adjective for a very, very, good history book about the damage Hitler/Stalin did to E. Europe in WWII.

Thanks for the heads up .It looks like a really interesting book.
Believe it or not , i have endless debates with my friends who argue that the Russian effort in WW11 was minimal.
