Great photo.  As a note, the 'DU30' written on one of the Commando AFV's wood panels is a short version of Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte's name.  It's not used to refer to him in person, but neither does he regard it as an insult.

Proper, careful sanding, and repeated layers of wax buffed between applications and it would shine like a jewel.

The rivet counting modelers in 20 years are going to have great arguments about these modifications.

Seems like the ultra low density multi layered corrugated cellulose fibre composite applique armor worked.

Am I the only one who remembers the Egyptian Spring headgear protection worn by some Egyptian protestors when they saw that LAV pic with the cardboard "armour"?

That was surprisingly good, plastic dustbins of insignificant weight, I was forced to watch the APC for several seconds before I realized what it was. Now think if I look at it at a distance, the APC silhouette is definitely changed to a not APC.

I can imagine the commander of the AFV shouting 'don't put you're glass down there it'll leave a ring. Although perhaps he's been skip surfing?

Is it a recycling 113? Plastics in one, garden in another and kitchen waste in the third.

I managed to identify the Simba's easily enough from a picture that was used on the BBC UK news website.  However what about the above vehicle?  The turret reminds me of the LAV-300 but then again the 90mm Cockerill cannon has been installed on quite a few different hulls over the years (I haven't seen it being used on the M113 chassis but I'm sure its only a matter of time now...).

This is certainly one conflict that I do not hear much about.

So the "ULDMLC2F composite applique armour" worked, but the brown sugar bundles below appear not to have been tested yet.

It is indeed an LAV-300.

On the link someone mentioned barbed wire carrier. But to me it looks like another attempt at added protection. The unmodified M113 is a death trap when hit by RPG.

Thank you for the confirmation.  I have long been curious about this particular AFV, it really does not appear to have had much success in terms of sales despite on paper at least to be a decent vehicle, performance-wise anyway.

FUCK YEAH TWILIGHT:2000!

ahem, sorry

They do not have 105 mm KaJaPa! ;)

But seriously, how many dismounts are left when a M242 is mounted overhead? Additional ammunition and gunner have to go somewhere and the turret isnt weightless either.

And is it still amphibious?

More importantly, can it still be airdropped? And why, again, less than 8 inch? :D
