I note that the Russians have not supplied any BTR80s to the Syrians although they have deployed those for their own forces.

Some photos from Turkey's Operation: Olive Branch attack on the YPG in Afrin:

An M60's commander in his cupola, looking somewhat British with his black tanker's beret:

The YPG captured an ACV-15 with the Sniper 25mm Bushmaster/ 7.62mm MG3 turret:

It's not clear from whom the vehicle was captured but my guess would be the FSA.

Turkey just brought at least 28 more ACV-15s into its fight with the YPG.  They were moved in on tank transporters, two on each transporter:

One more overhead shot:

Note what appear to be Cadillac-Gage / Textron-type turrets on two of the APCs.  Three others have a large circular hatch that IDs them as possible mortar carriers.

I don't think I'll ever understand why some armies still keep berets other than strictly for special occasions.

"Turkish Army's upgraded 'Sabra' M60T MBTs are now being fielded in #Syria with Aselsan's laser warning system to beef up missile protection - originally shown at Istanbul IDEF defence show last year."

For reference, an image of the sensor package from that show last year:

It is gonna help only vs Kornet... And even then there might be only a few seconds warning.

It won't. There are no systems in theater that can be detected by these systems. Well, if they don't expect to dodge some AGM-114 or Kh-25.

The 360° surveillance system is probably important than the laser warners.

With much higher sensibility I presume. How they deal with false returns?

Why claimed? You can clearly see Sosna-U there.

Because I didn't know what the Sosna-U looks like.   I need to improve my skill at spotting tank sights.

I'm surprised, as I thought they'd upgraded all their remaining M48s to the A5 variant.
