Can anyone ID the tracked vehicle?
Looks like a Universal Carrier.
Definitely not a Sherman without turret, the tracks and hull are wrong.

Also not a Kangaroo, the tracks are also wrong, as again is the lower hull/glacis - being angled and not rounded, and not setback like on the Kangaroo. You can also see what looks like the carrier forward and aft superstructure, and the tracks match perfectly.

excellant tank porn
KingTigers and city usually equate to Budapest, but it really seems to be France
and they are actually moving - 68 tonnes heavy tank working in action
And the cobblestone street seems to be handling it surprisingly well.
Many USAREUR post-war motor pools retained cobblestone paving (Historic preservation as I recall). They actually did quite well but let one cobble come lose and the rest of the paving started to collapse like a house of cards.

External final drives suggest not a Universal Carrier. Even the Lloyd version, which did have exposed final drives, didn't look like that.

Not sure even if the rubber fully melted off, it would appear like that. Here is one close up of one type of M4 tank track.
Some more close up track pictures.

M4 Sherman by Mark Yearian, on Flickr
Edit: Here are some outlines to make it easier to see. It's a welded hull Sherman with the single-piece final drive and differential cover, and the board commonly seen on the glacis for stowage.

Those treads desperately need to the rubber to look good, thanks for that.

I think it more closely resembles an M32 tank recovery vehicle with T-66 or T-69 track. There looks to be a hood for the winch opening in the front slope.

Ah right, the glacis board was making the hull look very unlike a Sherman to me.

Maybe, but to me the M32's winch fairleads seem to be more substantial, lower, and more protruding than the shadow is behind that vertical post in Milo's picture (example). Also, it looks like the portion of the side hull where the crane boom attachment should be is visible, but the attachment and boom seem to be absent. I'm convinced the tracks are VVSS with the rubber burned off, but even if it was an M32 it would have a very low chance of being one with T66 track: the only welded-hull HVSS M32s produced were eighty M32A1B3s, and the first of these weren't made until March 1945. I'm still leaning towards a gun tank with the turret knocked off or something derived from a gun tank hull. Could be wrong, of course. Regardless, we agree it's definitely Sherman-based.I think it more closely resembles an M32 tank recovery vehicle with T-66 or T-69 track. There looks to be a hood for the winch opening in the front slope.

I have found this with Google Image Search,it is the 5th from the top, a bit cleaner image.
German soldiers pass by the beaten and lying in the ditch of the American tank M4 “Sherman” with a broken turret. Plasmolen, Netherlands, 17 September 1944.
Additionally, here at Liberation Route #4 - Mook. https://liberationroute.com/is an interesting site, too, I have never heard before about AVOG Crashmuseum, for example.

Okay a yellow ring and a band around the turret would have been okay too, if they go for retro.
Or white...

First combat use of Tiger II was in Normandy, July 1944.
yes, I did know that, but it sure looked Budapest and why are they milling around in Paris ......
Perhaps a short trip from one train center to another towards Normandy ... or showing off a bit in Paris fpr propaganda.
Panzerman do you have more of these ... photos are usually done in a series.
( now there is a McDonalds a few hundred meters away)
