Apparently the bird was shot down in 1943 during the operations aimed at supporting the Kerch-Eltigen operation in 1943. It is likely that the pilot was trying to make it back to Taman but was forced to crash land.

 

Quite a few findings in the area since the construction of the bridge started (2 Il-2s were also found recently).
